I've been going to the Cineplex at Queensbay Mall every week nowadays to enjoy the student discount price (While I'm still am). It's only RM5. So, last week, i went to catch a thriller - The Number 23. This movie caught my attention - why? JIM CARREY! Jim Carrey in a thriller? Now that i got to see. By the way his last Jim Carrey Movie i've watched was BRUCE ALMIGHTY (Oh yar... another show similar with Bruce Almighty is coming up EVAN ALMIGHTY and yes... Morgan Freeman is God again. God is black...)
Jim Carrey carried out the role really well. My stereotype thoughts i had on Jim Carrey who is extremely funny and can never be taken seriously changed after watching him playing the role of Walter Sparrow.
It's a smart movie. I like how story line goes. It makes you think. Malaysia Film makers should try to make movies like that - unpredictable. Movies which can SURPRISE the audience. And guess what, this movie - The number 23 ends with a bible verse. Which scares me a bit and also makes me think about the number 23 - since the number 23 has some connection with the bible.
